Tattoos are a permanent change to your body. When introducing a foreign substance into your body such as inks or dyes, there is potential for adverse events such as infection or allergic reaction.

It is extremely important that you take the time to properly care for your tattoo and follow aftercare instructions. 90% of how your tattoo heals is directly related to how you care for it. It can take 3 weeks or longer for a tattoo to completely heal.

TEGADERM:

Leave first bandage on for 24 hours.  After 24 hours remove bandage and wash tattoo with either Dial Gold or Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap and warm water. (seeping of the color is normal, you may see blood, ink and/or clear excretion).  Air dry for 10-15 minutes or until completely dry.  Do NOT apply ointment or lotion.

Apply a fresh piece of Tegaderm (do not stretch skin).  You can find Nexcare Tegaderm at a Walgreens pharmacy.  You may need help from another person for hard to reach spots.

1.  Cut bandage to allow at least 1 inch of Tegaderm to be in contact with undamaged skin.  When cutting bandage, round corners for best adhesion.

2.  Peel off paper backing to reveal adhesive side.

3.  Gently apply bandage using light pressure.

4.  Remove plastic backing leaving only Tegaderm on skin.

5.  This bandage can stay on for 5-7 days max.  Remove after 7 days.  If your bandage falls off, reapply a new bandage or use instructions below until healed.

After 2nd bandage is removed, wash your tattoo with either Dial Gold or Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint soap once a day until completely healed.  Pat dry with clean towel or fresh paper towel.  Then apply a thin layer of Tattoo Lovers Care CBD (my#1 choice), unscented lotion or Aquafor 1-3 times daily until tattoo is completely healed (usually 3 weeks total healing time).  Do not apply too thick, as you want your tattoo to breathe and heal.  Always wash your hands before applying lotion or washing tattoo as to reduce the amount of bacteria coming into contact with your skin.  As your tattoo heals, peeling and flaking of color is normal.  When peeling occurs, do not pick at or scratch your tattoo.

Do not work out while Tegaderm is applied (sweat may accumulate under bandage).  Remove bandage if it becomes sweaty or has an odor.  It is very important that you do not submerge your tattoo in water or expose it to sunlight until completely healed.  Do not apply sunscreen until your tattoo is healed.  Be sure to try and keep as little clothing friction (such as socks, bra straps, belts, ect.) away from your tattoo.  Prepare your bed with clean, pet hair free sheets and blankets.

Apply 60 spf + sunscreen to your tattoo once it is completely healed whenever you are exposed to sunlight (forever) to keep your tattoo vibrant and to protect from fading.

If you have any medical concerns, i.e. feeling ill, allergic reaction or infection please contact your physician.  Signs of infection:  Clear oozing turns a yellow/greenish color, redness and inflammation lasts longer than a week, portions of the tattoo fall out leaving behind skin tissue in large areas.
